Tommy has been patiently waiting for his forever home since December 10, 2024, and we simply can't understand why.

This handsome boy came to the shelter as a stray with a shoestring embedded deep into the flesh around his neck, requiring surgery to remove it. Despite the hardship he endured, Tommy has remained one of the sweetest, most loving dogs you'll ever meet.

Tommy has impeccable house manners. He's house-trained and already knows sit, stay, off, and come. He even waits to be invited onto the couch or bed...although if you leave him home alone, he may decide the comfiest spot is fair game. 😉

He absolutely loves going for walks and gets excited the moment he sees his leash. While he could use a little more practice with leash manners, it's truly his only "flaw." Tommy isn't especially food motivated—he's people motivated. He wants nothing more than to make his person happy, and he'll happily stay by your side wherever you go. Whether you're relaxing at home, working in the yard, or enjoying a cup of coffee, Tommy is content to quietly lie at your feet.

Tommy has done well with children and has shown wonderful manners in public. He doesn't react to other dogs while on leash and calmly relaxes at coffee shops as people and dogs pass by. He walks nicely through busy areas and is simply a joy to spend time with.

Tommy has spent far too long waiting for someone to notice him. He has all the qualities people say they're looking for.... A loving heart, great manners, loyalty, and an easygoing personality. Now all he needs is a family to give him the chance he deserves.
