DIXIE UPDATE AUGUST 2026
Dixie has come SO far since that scared, skinny girl found nearly a year ago with her sisters. She has learned that it is ok to trust people, it still takes more time to trust new people but once you’re in, you’re her everything. She has learned that she can relax, that the whole world isn’t trying to hurt her. She has learned to play and share with dog friends, except for food (her food is her food). But she has learned to wait for her food and take turns with dog friends for treats. I think she will need a home with a dog friend, the seperation anxiety is still there when she’s all alone. She’s a smart girl and loves to learn new things (for food of course). She may never be that dog that wants to go run errands with you but she is such a good girl at home with the friends she trusts.
This sweet herding-type girl has a gentle soul and a shy streak that’ll melt your heart. Dixie is still learning that the world is a safe and happy place, and she’s looking for a patient home to help her come out of her shell. Around other dogs, she really shines — her tail wags faster, her eyes light up, and you can see her confidence bloom! A doggy friend could be just the thing to help her feel brave and loved.
With a little time, encouragement, and some secure fencing for her safety, Dixie will reward you with loyalty, love, and quiet companionship. She’s the kind of girl who may start out timid but ends up being your most devoted friend. 💕
✨ Give Dixie the chance to bloom — she’s ready to find her forever home! ✨
