Mixed Breed SPAYED female, 1 year old and 56 pounds.
UPDATE 7/7: Hope was fitted with a pull harness, but she doesn't pull much. She reacts well to the dogs she passes in the shelter, and greets new people well. She likes to explore new surroundings, and she's alert to any noises while she's out on a walk. Hope knows SIT. Hope is a sweet girl with good manners.
UPDATE 6/6 We took Hope out for another romp and photo shoot, and she was much more confident and happy. She is such a beautiful dog with a coat like velvet. Hope was happier and had fun in the yard. She has a very soft mouth, and takes her treats with care. She was a real sweetheart.
UPDATE 5/30. Two of the volunteeers came to us today to give a progress report on Hope. This orginally shy one is blossoming. They said she is a doll! Loveable and very affectioate.
UPDATE: We took beautiful Hope out for a romp and photo shoot. She was a bit unsure and nervous, but very easy to leash up and walk, and warmed up quickly. In no time, she was nosing the treat bag! Hope is beautiful, with soulful eyes, and a soft and lush coat. She's a graceful dog, with long legs and a long body that made us think she perhaps has some Greyhound in her mix. We hope HOPE finds her new home soon, and can unwind and relax and gain confidence.
Summer Intern notes 6/14
Hope is an amazing dog who has come out of her shell tremendously since she has arrived at the shelter. She is very easy to leash up and has impeccable kennel manners. Hope will need a home with a very strong family, as she does tend to pull on leash. Hope is very smart and already knows 'sit" and "down" while gently taking treats.
This beautiful dog is HOPE! She hopes she can find her forever home real soon. Hope is shy and reserved, but warms up after a bit. Hope will need a calm home, with patient guardians, who can help her gain confidence. We have a special place in our hearts for the shy dogs, and our volunteers and staff will be working with Hope in the coming days. Check back for updates!
